As a doula, my job is not medical, but to provide educational, emotional and physical support.
My job is to be here for your comfort, support, and encouragement. I am also a Christian and can pray with you or for you prenatally, during, and postpartum, if desired. As a licensed midwife, I can provide additional aspects of care. If you want the gentle midwifery approach but still have a hospital birth, we can discuss monitrice services.
As a Labor Doula-
I will provide you with continuous support during labor, at home, birthing center, or hospital. I will provide you with physical, emotional, informational and spiritual support (if desired). I am not here to replace the loving support of Dad, but to provide an extra pair of helping hands, that can prove to be indispensable in such an important occasion. If Dad is away and not available ( i.e. single-parenthood, widower, deployed, or other) then I am here to fill in.
My services include: 2-3 prenatal visits-an initial meeting to talk about past births, a 4 hr. Child Birth Education Class, and discussion/help preparing of your birth plan.
I also provide continuous care during active labor, and for a time just after delivery. We will meet one more time in the week after birth to followup, give breastfeeding support, and discuss your birth.
Unlimited contact via phone or email during pregnancy and post-partum. Once you decide, a non-refundable deposit of $250 is due to secure your spot with me. All payment can be made in person or via Paypal, which I will invoice you for. Limited spots are available, as I only book 2 births per month. Remainder of balance is due by 38 weeks.
